Google seems to have made a few changes in Android 4.2 regarding the Developer options / settings that you used to see in Settings for Android phones and tablets. When you buy the Nexus 4 or get an Android 4.2 software update on your Android phone / tablet, don’t freak out that you no longer see the Developer options in Settings. They have not vanished, just buried deep inside Android.
Why? Most of Android users do not need to know or use these various Developer settings. They are average users who install apps, make calls, watch videos or play music. They do not play around with Developer options, debugging tools or any other settings that might make their phone go boom! Continue reading after the jump and we’ll tell you how to enable Developer options back in Settings on Android 4.2.
Step 1 - Go to Settings > About phone.
Step 2 - Scroll down to the bottom to “Build number.”
Step 3 - Tap “Build number” seven (7) times. Right after the third tap, you will see a dialogue box that says you are only four taps away from being a developer. Continue tapping four (4) more times.
That’s it! Your Developer options under Settings are back! Now can enable USB debugging mode, enable finger pointer or play around with the animation settings. It’s all yours now!
